I really like the Half Balboa and the quarter has nice super nice details. I can't tell from the pic of the 88 ML; is it bluish toned, or mostly purple?
The leaf side is blue and the queen side is almost black. It’s beyond my talents to get a good pic. If it wasn’t in the original mint packaging I’d think someone baked it.
me as well..purchased the Leif Ericsson comemmorative a while ago..with the Icelandic one as well and being part scandanavian..german after doing DNA ..I got hooked.

love the Coat of arms design..I know its what like 700-800 years old and oldest continous one in the world
Awesome that you still have it in the package. Never heard of baking a coin. Sounds like an attempt at creating AT? Is that what you mean? I think that it is cool that it toned in its own package... That to me is like an error coin, because of the unintentional effect of being susceptible to this. Cool coin.... I like the blue tones the best... especially on Silver Ikes and older quarter proofs .
You sparked my interest in these Commemoratives too. Thanks for sharing. Iceland is one place I'd like to live for a few years, there and New Zealand. BTW... Nice $500 note in the pics. Always on the lookout for those.
Some new French Ecus. First is Louis XIV. He really needs no introduction. This coin took nearly a month to arrive from France. It went from France to NY Customs, then to Montreal for 11 days, then NY customs and a week to get to me recently. The last one is, of course, Marie Antoinette's Husband. My Louis XIV example is the typical overstruck type. Louis XIV (1638 - 1715 A.D.) AR Ecu O: LVD•XIIII•D•G (soleil) FR•ET•NAV•REX, Bust with square neckline.
