I actually watch the video service a moderate amount, and have ordered some things in the marketplace. Probably about a push for me.

@DrDarryl I enjoyed that little spin. Quite enjoyable. Thanks. Also, the music was perfect.

I also collect old postcards and today, I picked up couple of postcards that date pre WWII. They are from Macedonia and depict archeological site of Stobi in Central FYR Macedonia(now).

I visited the place years ago, when I had no interest in numismatics, only in history and culture and I forgot the fact that it also had a mint and a worthy place in Roman Empire.
Anyway, I didnt want to re write others writing, so I enclose couple of links that may be of interest to all of you, that say a little about the place.

About the coins and the mint of Stobi... I dont have any of such coins so I couldnt post photos, but there is a great collection presented at CP site(for educational purposes only)That I stumbled upon.

Btw, there was recently a great book published on the Stobi coins in private and museum collections of Serbia.

    Best Regards

I was with Gerber Legendary Blades for several years during the 80's and then as a Group Director in the Late-90's. Have several Pre-Production Prototypes, First Production Runs, etc. Won a BMF Bowie Knife off a fellow Director on a bet. :)

Few days after my above quoted post I got offered this coin and I bought it.
Hopefully, its authentic. It is 27mm. Overse is Iulia Domna and reverse is Nike(I guess)

@Makanudo - I have a postcard I want to show you if I can put my hand on it. I know I filed it somewhere for safekeeping; but, it does not seem to be safe from my apparently poor memory. I will try to find it after work today and post it here for you. I had never seen anything like it before or since.

Excellent other hobby and great photographs! I'm into cosmology, so mine is rather more of a book-oriented avocation :bookworm: than a sky-watching :pompous: pastime. To each his/her own, and we all have fun and learn (in that's in either order). By the way, that's a really awesome scope! :peeking:******

@LaCointessa You've got my curiosity awoken.
In case it is old postcard, I will surely love it.
Thank you for wanting to share.

When I complain about my seemingly failing memory skills my dear wife is always kind enough to point out the following: there really isn't much to worry about if you can't find your car keys, it only becomes a problem when you can find them but have no idea what they are for.

That is awesome! I am a recently converted runner and just (finally) got up to 5k 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately, that 5k came with consequences and I have been sidelined ever since with an injury. My athletic therapist has been making fun of me as I complain 'I just want to run again' when half a year ago I was firmly in the 'running sucks' category.

In terms of my hobbies, if I had endless money I would have endless hobbies but since I don't you can probably call my other hobby as 'taking classes at university'. Due to my job I get my tuition reimbursed so I can take any undergraduate course for basically free (pending I meat the prerequisite requirements). Doing this I get to learn about things I don't necessarily have the motivation to learn on my own from reading dry textbooks. This year I am taking an Intro Linguistics class and am finding it very interesting.

First I must say that I am a poor boy. I dabble in old pocket knives. I dabble in photography. I aim to get a Canon 20, 30 or 40D camera because it can use the lenses from my 35mm EOS650. I fooled with flashlights but now I'm happy with what I have. Likewise pens.

I have 40+ vinyl records and a decent receiver and turntable.

    And I'm a voracious reader!

And now that I've seen Lego I figure that's another slippery slope.

Well I guess I collect the traditional stuff. Coins, post cards, marbles, rocks, old books and probably more.

Not that I'm particularly proud of. Unless you count fishing and music, but those are passions and necessary to sustaining life.
