I've been looking for something a little unique from Tyre and came across this one. CY 137=AD 11/2 apparently only one other example sold at HA, so an extremely rare date. I think a keeper:happy::shame:;) Wasn't cheap but the other one sold was MUCH more expensive....so I'm well pleased.

And while I was waiting for the auction to end, I got this one too

Phoenicia Tyre Uncertain King....seems to be a multiple strike:p

Cool! I've recently gotten interested in early (pre-Hellenistic) Phoenician coins, and I picked up this didrachm of Tyre similar to your second coin:

    Sweet!!!

I'm still in the hunt for a Shekal of Tyre....if I can ever find a 'nice' one for less than a grand.

Well a decent 'Normal' one will set you back around 600-800 but rare dates go for quite a bit more.
