1859 Indian Head Penny Error?

    I got this Indian Head penny. I think it might be an Incomplete Punch error? If not, maybe it was in a pendant at one time or something like it? I am hoping someone can help me with identifying what happened to this penny.

    Yes, it is has strange damage to it. It kinda looks like a Incomplete Punch at first but it is not. Been pondering on this for awhile. Thanks!
