Paul, hope I look that good when I'm 126 years young. Very beautiful coin.
Did you have it graded or did you purchase it that way?
And the desired question: Your cost...Thanks for posting.

  6. I bought it off eBay. I got it for $300 exactly. I'm VERY new to proof coins (This is my first "old" proof coin actually) so maybe I payed too much but I don't think I did, and also it's the best looking coin Ive ever owned. Thank you! :D

  7. Fun Fact: Just found this out, if you do to the PCGS Coin Facts page for this coin
    http://www.pcgscoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/3889
and you click "View all coin Images". There are 5 pictures and the bottom one is my coin :) Pretty cool if you ask me. I don't know how rare that is but I surprised me.

I see you grabbed it yesterday. The auction doesn't have the same images as you have, or those images aren't showing on ebay. Do you already have the coin?

  9. Yeah. Those pictures were taken by me. The eBay pictures were taken by the seller.

  10. I paid for it over a week ago though :\

Ooops.... It's too early on a Saturday for me. The auction ended on the 19th. Coin Society has it showing as ended on the 27th. My bad!

It really is a beautiful coin. Enjoy it!

  12. Thank you very much Beefer!

That’s one of my former pieces. It was an NGC PR-63 at one time, but it was considered undergraded by just about everyone. I traded it for a raw 1881 shield proof I think.

Lovely coin! I love old proofs. Watch out—they can be adddicting. I’ve got the 1883s — with cents and without.

Go post that in Post a Proof Coin thread. That thread is often neglected.

  17. I actually put it in the Post a proof coin thread first.

    never mind... I'm stupid.

The Kirkuleez provenance is clearly what every collector wants, PCGS refuses putting it on the labels for fear of causing riots at shows and auctions. Smart move on their part.

I think you made a good trade for an 1881 shield proof.
    Can we see it?

Awesome colors on the TrueView. I love hearing the provenance too. Sounds like you love the coin so that's what really counts.
