Hmmm - I thought my digital blue cheap scope was fine. I think this was 60x. It makes it easy to see certain things on the coins.

Mark - that pic is perfect! I'm still trying to get the best result so I hope I can get to where you are at with yours.

The ebay auction for the one I got was 170157457029

I upgraded to the 5MP camera (MD900) for an extra $100.

An older scope with the same camera ($399) would work just as well I believe. It comes with adapters for 30mm and 30.5mm eye pieces. I still need to play with the lighting a bit I think as the fluorescent does not seem to be enough or correct for coins. Something I probably should have upgraded as well.

The company FORGOT :( to send the 20X eyepieces and the aux .5 objective - both very much needed! A phone call got them in the mail with no fuss so everything should be fine.

I was finally able to look at nickel mint marks with the level of magnification that's really needed to look at RPM's and over marks :). Now if I ever leave there I am going to have to get my own!

    Best Regards

    Darryl
