How do you get on his list? I googled it and couldn't find anything.

I couldn't find that specific page on the website either. Eventually, I will use the email address listed and simply ask to be added.

I have two with anchors headed my way. I am looking into ancient anchors, ie which way is up, for a recent purchase. I will post it when I have more info.
Mine is similar to the one below, King of Elygais, Orodes (#?) thanks to LAC -

Frank's newsletters are worth a quick read when you need a grin.

Thanks for the tip @Ken Dorney - I emailed Frank and he emailed me back already. So I am on the list.

Just as a note since I don't want to give anyone unreasonable expectations of a huge monthly bargain coin list. Frank usually has 3-4 auctions a year (I believe one is active right now), 4 world coin lists (usually nothing earlier than late 18th century but mainly 20th century stuff), and one, maybe two, bargain coin list a year.

Keep in mind his world list is typically updated, so you can still see things current.

    That is correct.

I mainly buy off the world list & have been very happy. I spent a few hundred total in a list when a British set was being pieced out alone. But they were worth it and not 1 I wasn't happy with.

This last list of his I just got 1 coin, not much interested me.

Bargain can be hit/miss. Most I have been happy with.

I'm hoping my order comes tomorrow.:watching:

Nice OP coins, I like that Gallienus and at $20 I would take that Postumus sestertius too.

Did you know Frank has a blog? Basically non numismatic but very opinionated, although one can detect a very sound mind behind his wording. Most of KT members will enjoy reading his views, but some may disagree. Give it a try: The Rational Optimist, WordPress.com. Also, his coin experiences, beliefs and philosophies are laid out in a very readable book called Confessions of a Numismatic Fanatic.

This is an extremely good read, very relatable. Pretty much covers it all, but as it was published in 1992 it is pre-internet and doesnt have anything to that period. Maybe he will write an update! Anyway, its worthy of any collectors library and can be had on Amazon starting at under $10.

I check on his blog every now and then and often enjoy what I read. I like to consider myself a rational optimist, though perhaps I’m more optimist than rational, and certainly neither as opinionated nor as intelligent as Frank :D. I haven’t purchased his book but it sounds like I should give it a try!

I highly recommend his book. It is an interesting read and it is well written. I do not agree with everything that Frank has written in his blog, but again it is well written and well thought out. When I read his blog I cannot help but think "Wow, there is someone who knows how to write".Most written work I encounter is just plain awful and tortuous to read. It is a pure delight to enjoy the well written work of someone who cares enough to get it right.

I was wondering if any of you got your bargain bin pickups from Frank. I got mine this week. I wouldn't have picked up some of them if I had the pictures, but it is nice to see what the coins I wouldn't have picked up look like in hand... I'm a lot less worried when handling them; that's for sure! After seeing the coins, I thought Frank's descriptions were quite accurate.

Here is my favorite (Also many thanks to Doug for his helpful advice with photography; I'm still practicing):

Another happy customer. I've also been buying from Frank since the late 80's and have nothing but good things to say. I've done the auctions, World lists and bargain lists. Years ago, I sent 1 unphotographed lot back and had no problems. I have no problem recommending him as a dealer.
