I'd hate to miss out on this set but the mint does sell kool stuff at a huge mark up. Coin Talk members Please chime in
I'm planning on it. Maybe, so I haven't decided 100% yet. There's many here that will too, some think they'll wait until the individual coins drop in price in the aftermarket. It's a gamble of course if it will or if it won't. If you like the set, then buy it. If you are indifferent like I am then you'll be on the fence.
I purchased 13 enhanced proofs for my grandbabies, but ive been in south africa and haven't had a chance it view them yet.
If you are going for a collector's item, fine, go for it. But do not think of them as investments. Although every once in a while ....
I also like OGP...the price diff. will not be much anyway, but who knows in which direction? I still haven't hit the button yet either. I don't know yet if I even like them or not.
I don't see how these will hold their price after the initial frenzy dies down (if there even is one) with that mintage and that price for medals where the first two offerings of the design have fared poorly.
Oh. Heck to the no. Im out. I didn't really like the design from the start but after seeing silvers & gold together if I had to choose, it would be the gold.
I'm in for one or two. Not for profit, but because I like them. [Gots a grandson on the horizon. Any day now]
Are you talking about the first two designs of the Liberty medal? Because the one from last year sold out in 12 minutes.
And I will be passing on this set as well. I usually find reverse proofs among the most striking coins/medals out there. The reverse proof in this set just really turns me off for some reason.
This years, the gold and the proof that has already been done with the current design. Last years was an easy guess for instant sell out with the beautiful design and low mintage
