Probably stupid question, is ebay.co.uk usable from the US?

I'm lurking on Ebay for some nice British coins to consider buying, and I notice that the UK site is considerably cheaper than the US site (because, you know, we think anything before 1775 is ultra-rare).

Assuming the seller is willing to ship to the US, can I use the site from here? Is it recommended?

You can see their listings without having to go to the Uk site but yes you can use the other ones if you want if they're willing to ship to you

Yes course you can, just search from where you are, usually the items you see are available to be shipped to the US.
You can even sell on eBay.uk if something is not allowed on eBay.com.
I`m registered on UK but sell on dot com things i`m not allowed to sell in the UK.

Interesting. What sort of things are you not allowed to sell in Britain? I now there are some countries not allowed on EBay.com but was not aware of anything in the UK which was not saleable there but is here.

Knife sales except cutlery was banned, eBay applied the law to everything.

I tried to sell an antique Victorian silver fruit knife with a blade length of less than 2 inches, eBay sanctioned me for trying to sell a deadly weapon.
I listed it on dot com and it sold.
Same goes for WWI bayonets, they go to the US.

In the US I understand you can`t sell US war medals, so folks list them on the UK site
There are many banned items that apply to different countries.

Is Ebay.uk a different company from Ebay.US? If not then it just goes to show how stupid the world is becoming.

Same mother company of ebay. Many countries have their own ebay.## website

I go to the Italian Ebay on a regular basis and buy coins from the sellers who will ship to the USA, not all do. I can read basic Italian but they also have a translated service if you need it. Of course they use the Euro over there. Italian sellers usually charge 10 euros for shipping to the USA and that's a registered packet with tracking.

Yup. Transatlantic shipping prices are steep but still often better than buying from US Ebay for European coins.
