TJO. you should listen to Fred Weinberg. He is a very well known coin Errors expert. I have met him briefly at a Las Vegas coin show. He knows error coins.
from OP's original post: "...This is my first time on here I just wanted some opinions. Please be gentle. Lol ..." lol, indeed!
TJO I wold definitely send the quarter in but not sure on penny. I haven't seen on here yet where one person ever agreed on a new members coin find. I take mine to a reputable dealer who I trust. He tells me the hard truth whether I want it or not. I hope you will show us the coins when they come back in Holders. Thanks
May I ask what you see in the quarter that makes you believe it's "definitely" worth sending in? Honest question.
I've seen it happen once or twice. It's not like people here WANT to disagree with new members, just that new members are usually new coin collectors too who tend to think PMD is some sort of mint error. Sometimes they are respectful and learn quickly. Sometimes they do not.
OP, you have two damaged coins and have wasted your money if you submitted these for grading. That is a fact, and you don't have to believe it for it to be true. You will find out on your own when your submissions come back.
Wow. This thread blew up quickly My money is on never hearing about these 2 coins again... If you ask for opinions you should be willing to listen to those opinions. Even if they aren't what you want to hear. Meh...what do I know?
New members who log on to ask a question (even a not-very-smart question) usually get answers that are factual if not polite. New members who log on to educate the rest of us here aren't usually tolerated...and aren't missed.
Hi all my name is Delwin ,I am very interested in Error coins I recently got a error coin called Commerative $1 dollar no date or face ,blank grade should I sent it in ? Thk you all for advice . Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk
The Commemorative Silver Dollar Planchets (type 2 w/upset rims) are easy to find - I have quite a large inventory of them, both raw and in ANACS holders. Not worth the PCGS or NGC fees, but might be worth ANACS certification, if you want it encapsulated.
Advice.. Start your own unique thread! This is about another topic. I'm not trying to be mean but helpful. ✌
I was suspecting but did not want to say it and it not be. *Edit: It was so long ago I didn't even remember I said so lmao.
