LMAO!!! Right. I just love how my first reply was find another coin dealer. I have read forums in here before and it is the same story. I gave a simple explanation of my inquiry as other people do on here and always there is someone like you who gives absolutely no information regarding the subject in question but tries to discourage them. If u do not have INTELLIGENT information to offer do not respond with your immature uneducated opinion. Is it the question about my coins you don't understand. Maybe re-read those questions before u give an opinion obviously u have no information to offer. Only wasting my time.
2nd view, the quarter doesn't have but 1 profile! Sorry, I don't think that I'd submit them. Let us know how you came out.
Well, someone has to find errors, right? Finding a decent error is like hitting the jackpot, but it does happen. There are a lot of people on these boards that know their coins, so if pretty much everyone is saying they are not errors.... But if you want to submit them and see, go for it. And $30 is dirt cheap to submit an error coin. Most places are about twice that. Who is he submitting to, and are you sure he is submitting them as errors? They will not grade them as errors (IF they really are errors) unless the dealer pays the extra fees to label them as such. By the way, I just sold a gold error coin tonight for over $800, that I bought raw for a little over $200 (and sent for grading myself!)
U r not everyone. did u ask for advice on here before u sold it. I already paid to have them sent out first thing tomorrow morning. I have no regrets I did not inquire about how to spend MY money nor would I ever tell someone else how to spend theirs. Do u respect anyone. I don't want your advice and never would I take it angry person.
Well, your first post indicates you were asking for opinions, and now you say you don't want anyone's advice? We were just trying to be helpful. Please report back to us how the grading goes.
31.00 dollars to b exact. And if you knew your stuff u would know who my coins are being sent to. There are two big names to send your coins to and one of them is twice the cost. Especially if u did it yourself it costs 39.00 at one place and 69.00 at the other. Just for membership then u have the cost of the coin being graded 15.00 on top of that for error coin and insurance shipping and handling. Glad I had my coin dealer send it out I don't need to b a member and do it myself. I appreciate everyone else's opinion. You r the one I have a problem with. Like I said u know nothing about my coins!!!
Hello... 1st thing. I have been collecting Mint Errors for 30+ years. When a dealer tells you to get your suspected mint error coins graded that is incorrect, you get the coins attributed. Attribution is a different aspect at NGC. Your dealer might be knowledgeable in US coins that are grade value (not mint errors) but no experience in Mint Errors if it took him 10 minutes to look at the 2 coins in question. The Quarter is PMD - Post Mint Damage The Cent - Not 100% sure, but it could of had it's copper plating removed. You are seeing the Zinc core. These are just my honest opinions. Peace
Post them here with their correctly attributed errors when you receive them back from the TPG. Then we'll see if you're a troll or not.
The only error I see is in your dealers knowledge of error coins . Just kidding. First of all welcome to CoinTalk. Second of all, there are no errors there. Third of all there is one variety. The penny has a large die crack in the right field running from Lincoln's forehead to the rim. Though not listed on Cuds on Coins (which I suggest you get listed) it is not worth enough to be graded. Here are what the "errors" you and you dealer see actually are: 1- the quarter is plain old PMD, and a bit of glue if you ask me. 2- the penny has just been exposed to the environment and the reactive zinc and copper have formed some oxides together. Keep searching! I hope your dealer didn't purposely mislead you, as most collectors would have recognized those as non-errors.
The zinc pennies without copper can only truly be determined as an error if you can see the luster that should still be there. If not, it is circulated, could have been removed naturally or artificially.
1st off welcome to CT. your pictures are very out of focus for all of us to tell what you have. Not trying to be mean, but all of your coins look like they have PMD post mint damage. if none of your coins are indeed errors then you just wasted money. even if you have an error in 1 of these....I would bet that it is not worth the grading fees. if the grading fees are worth more than the error is worth then it is not worth getting graded. it never hurts to get a second opinion on all coins/error coins. I would listen to paddyman98 he has some of the most impressive coin errors here on CT. again welcome to CT.
