Here is a nice example of CopperCoins 1978P-1DO-001 I judt found in a box of pennies my grandma gave me to look through.
This one took me a while to id because I was trying to match up everything. How do you determine 1978 DDOs that may be EDS before die markers came? Like I know the 78-D has a notch but what about 78s?
What you have to do is look at the inside of the lettering . I'll use the 4 images on coppercoins and the first image is yours .
So lets post the images of #2 and #4 .. Now the date and so on ... Remember, you only need to use images of DDO-002 and DDO-004 . And right now, I'm thinking it's #4 ...
If you look at the opening of the " S " #4 is a lot smaller then #2 and that is why I say #4 . You can check the markers and see if any are visible . Coppercoins is in MDS and your looks like a early die state . The first image is yours .
Make sure you make a templet . It's best to take coin images on . The back should be about three quarter inch high . and works down to a quarter inch in the front . Here's a couple of images of what I'm talking about .
