For sure. They do try and suck you in with the easy dates. ASEs ruined walkers for me. Too much of the same design. Never really got into the Merc design even though dimes are usually one of my favorite, but with that being recycled too now I doubt I ever will change on that one
The standard album off the top of my head is missing quite a few moderns, and the no stars seated stuff. It's missing a good amount of variations on design and a lot of the early stuff most people can't afford
Thanks I am think8ng I should wait to pull the trigger on one because I'm the site they say it is undergoing an update so I'm assuming t would include more once it is out (if) they updated it ill get one it is the only album that interest me. Thanks, Jacob
The new 7070 has omissions, but different ones from the classic 7070. For a full experience including stuff like a Zincoln cent and ‘04-‘05 nickels, you’ll want to add a blank “year sets” page in the back. The new 7070 has, for example, a spot for ONE state quarter (your choice) but NO ATB quarter. In my extra page, I so far have a primo Zincoln, the Westward Ho nickel series, an ATB, and a post-2014 higher relief Kennedy half.
If they ever do. It took them years just to start making them again. Just seems like it shouldn't be as hard to update as they are making it.
Well this guys is always bashing newbies. He wants us all to go to the library and learn the hobby, geeze he always is so mean.
Here’s a good idea for you, @Krd046, try hanging out at a PGA discussion board and give advice to Phil Mickelson or pick a Senior Tour guy, maybe Bernhard Langer. Same thing. Count the dimples on a golf ball and wax poetic over it. Watch the reaction you get. Make the commitment to learn things first. Don’t take shortcuts. Do the hard work. And stop expecting those who HAVE put the work in to spoon feed you. It’s entirely okay to WANT the easy path, but it’s NOT cool to EXPECT it. Join a coin club, attend coin shows. Attend talks when you get there. Maybe subscribe to a publication or join the ANA (and thereby get the best one). Shut off the computer once in a while. I’m only on here when there’s absolutely NOTHING ELSE going on numismatically. It’s only better than nothing. It’s “only CoinTalk”, the most utterly dispensable part of numismatic life.
Amazing factoid - there are now more years of ASEs than Walker halves. Let that sink in a moment or two.
Hey base, that was the point of my thread - the new 7070's are out there in the wild after a LONNNNG hiatus.
I'm becomming boared with my Slabed coins and seriously thinking of starting that same collection with the added blank pages for varieties. I have a 20th Century set which I enjoy the most out of all my albums. Probably not the best investment, but maybe that set will keep me motivated as a collector.
I'm just glad the Dansco binding for the 7070 product has easily enough room for one extra page and maybe two, if you don't mind 'no narrowing' as you move from the binding to the other edge when closed.
speaking of 7070s i started one in the1980s it even survived a home fire i bought it's replacement a few years back but ran across a problem i lost a beautiful xf 20 cent piece and a vf 3 cent silver piece after a thorough search and review i located them between the cardboard layers as they had slipped from their assigned slots anyone else have similar problems???especially with smaller coins i tried to re-glue the cardboard no success
Talk about it. So many scarcities in plain sight for a low price, because no one knows about them. (Except for me...)
I'm pretty sure they have changed from the previous version, but I never owned the older type. It's just that the modern choices for inclusion suggest there have been changes.
Yes, several years. They did appear to add a slot or two but doesn't look like they changed a whole lot and certainly didn't catch all the way up to the series we have currently.
Amen, bro. I'd someday like to do a coin by coin comparison between the classic 7070 inclusions and the 2017 vintage 7070 version.
