Take a look at this Ebayer's items for sale!! http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZvette1986 He has many items for sale that are pretty good, and i was wondering if anyone had ever bought something from this dealer. I am currently bidding on some walking liberty's and some standing liberty's. Tell me what you think of this person!!
I'd say to stay away unless you really, really know what you're doing. This guy is know for overgrading and selling cleaned coins.
Only bought 1 coin from him and had no problems. But like any seller look long and hard at the coin, the grade and the price. Don't get caught in a bidding war. I think a lot of times his coins go for way more than what they are worth - of course I think that of a lot of coins. Good luck!
Not bad, I'd be careful though. Saw an 09 S that looks like might be a horizontal S, but also might be a fake. Might read up on it though. But some of his coins he says could be fine or fine+, which are only VG, so be careful, and know what you are buying. Phoenix
While this seller is certainly not an outright scam artist, he does not describe the coins well. Many are cleaned or have damage that he does not state. If you're not careful, you'll get a bad deal. Bid on them as a cleaned coin unless you're really certain. I think he just has way too many listings to spend lots of time on each one.
i bought from him before, hes honest i guess, but what i received didn't look as good as what I saw on ebay. overall he truly is offering what is pictured, just making it look nicer
I would not do business with this dealer. You will likely be disappointed with the quality of the coins that you receive.
I didn't have any problem with the guy. I suspect that he is really good with choosing the type of lighting for his pics.
A ton of listings does NOT make an honest or good seller. He has "some of the best coins on ebay (compared to what?)". Seeing that line too often these days. I would steer clear of that REAL CLEAR.
I bought a $10 Indian from him about 9 months ago and was totally unsatisfied with the condition. He called it CHOICE BU. I called it AU with several large nicks on the edges. I emailed him no less than seven (7) times and he ignored me. Only after I filed a dispute through paypal did he write me and then made a very lame excuse about not receiving his emails. I mailed it back to him (insured signature confirmation) and he finally reversed the charge. In the end it worked out for me but I did not like the process. Had I paid by check or money order, I believe he would have stuck me with the coin even thought he guarantees 100% satisfaction or your money back. I won't do business with him but I must admit he has some nice coins.
Beginning to think that E-Bay is the worst thing to happen to the coin collecting world in many years.............and the best thing to ever happen to grading companies (PCGS/NGC)-----------thoughts???????? "I've always been crazy, it's kept me from going insane."
I feel exactly the opposite. I for one would not have half the collection I have today were it not for ebay. It opens areas of collecting (whether it be type coins, ancients, or foreign) to numismatists that would generally not be available at your average coin shop. It also allows individuals to sell their own coins for something closer to market value, rather than whatever dealers will pay. Yes, ebay has its faults and caveats. (make no mistake, there's plenty!) But on the whole, it can do great things for the hobby.
I have bought large cents from vette, with no probs. I place subpar bids for subpar coins...if I win.I win. no sleep lost if I don't.
Here I sit, late at night reading this forum. Thinking about why I don't buy from the aforementioned ebay seller. Not any real problem with him, just don't like his hardsell, (already quoted) and generally hard to read photos and overall subtle overstating." I'm not a pro grader but this is a NICE coin." Well, I don't consider dents and scrapes anything but problem coins. So this leads me to think one more step : starting a forum about ebay buying tips. I'm sure all the experience of the people in this forum would be very interesting and helpful. So come and share!
I've seen coins from this seller for a long time, and have yet to find a coin which appeals to me. Read into that what you wish...Mike
money back I bought a key barber dime from him-----it never arrived and he refunded my money including shipping.
Some of them look like they were sand blasted. You can get good deal from shows. If dealers like you they will trade at dealer prices with you. stay away from E-Scam no need for it. I got 4 1996 unc sets with the 1996-W dime at 15.00 bucks each at Sundays show paid 4.00 each for 1987 (Kennedy Halves P&D not made for cir)
