If I was out searching for this key date and an Error coin fit the look of my collection, I would buy it.
I don't have anything good here this week either. Someone else can go it'll be a day or two before I could get pics up
I'll go again... Here we have a 1875 S 20¢ PCGS AU Details smoothed. PCGS price guide: AU 55 = $210 How much did this sell for ???
I'm going to go in the opposite direction. 20¢ pieces seem to carry a premium in and of themselves, regardless of a details hit. $225
200 ...it looks decent for a details piece and the photo might have made someone take a chance at a slightly higher price
Make that 7! You are right that this thread does not seem to have the popularity of the toning thread. I'm not sure what exactly to do. @ron_c @Beefer518 @KSorbo @Pickin and Grinin @baseball21 @charlietig @Johndoe2000$ you all seem to participate the most. Any ideas on how to revitalize this thread? Do you all want to keep going or end it here?
How about posting coins without revealing whether they are details or straight and guessing grade and/or price? I think it would be informative. Judging market acceptability is just as important as numerical grading and at least for me is just as challenging. Here's an example:
I'd just keep going and after a day go to the next one. People can jump in and out as they want. Sometimes the alerts don't pop for the threads anyway and they have to notice it was bumped
I'm not that interested in collecting Detail Type Coins myself (I only had one, but that is sold), but it is interesting to see how close we can guess the value. On what to do to get more interest, I really don't have any idea. It would be nice to keep this thread alive and not end it. I say we try Ksorbo's idea and see how it flies. If it doesn't work, at least we will have someone to blame..... PS....Who won the last one?
