Some odds and ends from this past weekend's show. Quick pics, sorry. The other side of this one is a Canadian dime with Victoria Any info on this would be appreciated
Copy of the 1870 s 3 dollar Indian Princess. Only 1 specimen of the real coin was ever struck.http://www.pcgscoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/7992
Picked up a few of these from ebay recently, made in China. No political comments, please. I am just posting a coin in this exonumia thread. It is about the size of a Morgan dollar and appears PL Cameo. Right cheap too.
Could very well be, I have seen it on a forum before or one of its brother/sister types. But I don't collect that era of tokens was in a bag of buy allof them and I didn't find it till I was half way thru the bag!
Just south of Pennsylvania is Baltimore, where the old Constellation is docked. These medals were made from the copper sheathing and nails taken from her hull when she was refurbished in shipyard some years back. This coin is good for lifetime free admission to the ship there at the Inner Harbor.
Neat Medal, I have one also. I really like the Concept and History. Would love to go see the Ship someday.
For about 2 years I lived within close walking distance of the ship, though I only went aboard once. Below is a photo I took there in 1976 (please pardon the dusty scan of the slide). A lot of early American history in that area. F.S. Key penned the Star Spangled Banner right near there during the War of 1812. Note the Douglas Fir log floating along the starboard side. A replacement mast awaiting trimming and stepping.
