There have been plenty of times when I have lost a bid on CNG and wished I had upped my bid accordingly or couldn't believe the final hammer price and how different it was to my much lower bid. This particular coin I lost to a much higher bid several auctions ago, but I managed to snag it for about $100 less than the hammer price today when it came back into the market on ebay (the differential is actually much higher as it doesn't include the buyer's premium)!! :woot:

So, go ahead and post your second chance offer coins or other similar coins or whatever rocks your boat!

What a great feeling! Lose out on a bidding battle, but WIN THE COIN WAR!!! Nice @Quant.Geek

Well, hmmm... not sure I have had second chances. However, I do have a couple Byz-40-Numbles, or whatever they call these weird coins:

It's hard for me to believe there are people with enough patience or the luck to be able to hold interest in something to snag it up when it hits the market again.
While I don't have a second chance at exact coin, I do have an example of a second chance of the same type.
My job doesn't allow me to stay on top of auctions or sales. So sometimes it's difficult to win an auction that ends during my work hours (unless I happen to bid my absolute maximum and hope for the best) and some auctions don't have the snipe option.
A Trajan I wanted badly but didn't put forth a bid that was my top out max was in an offering from our friend JA. He did send a PM but I didn't see it until way past auction end. Needless to say I was disapointed but as always no one is to blame but myself.
John obviously knew I was bummed and offered me another coin of the exact same type which I gladly accepted.
I recently posted this in another thread but think it pertains here.

I intended to bid on this coin in CNG e-auction 364 around the end of November 2015 but exhausted my budget on an earlier lot in the auction and it hammered for $96+fees(~$110). Near the end of December it was posted by a Vcoins dealer for $112. I'm not sure if it was a pricing error or what but I snapped it up within a few hours of it being posted and the seller still shipped it.

The only second chance win I've had was a military trade token poker chip. Not sure if the seller had more than one (most likely) or the buyer flaked out. I won't post it.

Original bidder didn't want this one so it deferred to me...I was happy to pick it up for the details it has.

That is a stellar coin... definitely worth the wait! (@chrsmat71, your Cherson is very cool too!)

Here is a rare (and cute) Carthage mint Justinian that I recently got in a group lot:
