BUT....I realized it was not a Denver mint mark BUMMER!!! :arghh:
Oh! Well the search continues, have to admit it was exciting for a minute.

It is a small date Philly. Needs to be in a little better condition.
I'm still looking for the zinc small date Philly.

I have a question, why are there some 1982 large & small date that weigh 2.5 and the large date and small date that weigh 3.1? Thank you

In 1982 The US Mint changed the composition of the cent from 95% copper/5% zinc to 90% zinc/10% copper or something close to this anyways. The "old" 95% copper cents weighs 3.1 grams and the "new" 90% zinc cents weighs 2.5 grams. I believe they still use the 90% zinc composition to this day.

The alloy remained 95 percent copper and 5 percent zinc until 1982, when the composition was changed to 97.5 percent zinc and 2.5 percent copper.

Thanks for the correction. I knew I should've looked it up.

As Mont said the zincs weigh 2.5 grams and the copper 3.1 (3.11).
