I bid on it and what I'm thinking is someone else who wants to bid on it, wants to throw some doubt in my mind to it's legitimacy so when they bid, I won't bid again.

I'm not seeing the D mintmark. Big difference in value.

I think @ldhair is on to something, the mint marks are small on peace dollars, but this coin doesn't seem to have one at all...

All three varieties of my 1923 Peace Dollars are EF+ or VF, but my cost differences between the P, D & S vary only by 50¢, and all purchased from the same seller several years ago for < $24 each. Granted, the mintages are 30.8M, 6.8M and 19M respectively, so the '23D should sell for a little more.

U R right, this is a Philadelphia coin.

And, no, this is not a fake... beautiful condition, BTW.

Terrible pics! With that said, pics are deceiving at times and it's probably genuine. Good luck!

Not 23-D, reverse has some scratches, or so it appears in the photo.

At first I thought this coin might have been dipped at some point, but after a closer review I am pretty sure it is Genuine and is a VERY nice Peace Dollar. I would bid on it with no reservations. Good luck. ;)

Not a 23-D (as has been mentioned) but that is an important distinction.

Nice coin but it is a Philly. If there's any question about cleaning, nice examples of this coin are plentiful in slabs.

Lots of '23Ds on eBay right now; many great looking. Difficult to find a 94 year-old coin w/out scratches, though. OP didn't say what an opening bid on the one in his pics is, but there are several with no bids yet on eBay. My guess is that these will probably go for ~ $30 or less... many are near the ends of their auctions w/asking prices over $40 with no bids at all.

Did you ever think about using a sniping program? Google auction snipers.
