Hi CT folks! This is my first give-away. It's not to celebrate any anniversary here or anything like that. I'm doing it just because I have been the recipient of plenty of cool loot for no reason at all by many extremely generous CT members. I also appreciate the support and encouragement I get here on Ct as I learn about coins. In an effort to give back to the CT community, (even though my collection is preliminary, basic and super modest), I want to do this little give-away. I hope it will be fun. While I think bank roll searchers - especially searchers of cent rolls - will be most interested in this give-away, anyone is welcome to participate, especially those who would like to get youngsters involved by presenting them with a set of coins like these upon which they can continue to grow a collection. If you want your name to go into the 'hat' please post something that indicates your interest. When you post, if you have a moment, it would be helpful to know what part of the give-away interests you most and why so I know for the next time I am putting together a give-away. The cut off time for registering your interest is September 30 at midnight; and, I'll draw and announce the name of the winner on October 1st in the morning. Here is what is included so far: US COINS - Cents 10 'unsearched' Loomis cent rolls - I purchased a few boxes of these rolls believing the seller that they were unsearched. But, I don't know, you know? These rolls are in the condition in which I received them. And the boxes of 50 rolls came sealed - supposedly sealed by the Federal Reserve Bank. Well, one thing I really like about the rolls is that I found lots of "s" mint cents in them. I hope you will also find them. These are not rolls of wheat cents but you may find wheaties in there. Who knows? Maybe you'll find something good in there. "s" mint cents - 25 's' mint cents of various years from 1920s through 1970s. Wheat cents - 1930 - 1939 - All the years are not included because I did not have all years; There are a few holes but most are included.* 1930d - 1939d - All the years are not included but most are. 1940 - 1949 - All years included 1940d - 1949d - All years included 1950 - 1959 - All years not included because of production issues in some years but most are included. 1950d - 1959d - All years not included but most are. 1960 - 1969 - All years included 1960d - 1969d - All years included 1970 - 1979 - All years included 1970d - 1979d - All years included Indian Head - One 1906 (edited, post originally said 1909 but I don't have a 1909! Sorry). Indian Head Cent. 2017p mint Cents - Some will be included but I'm not sure how many it will be. It won't be a roll. I know I don't have that many.* 2009 cents with special Lincoln reverses - Set of four different ones - These are not mint condition - I found them roll hunting and these are the best ones that I found so far. Extra 'steel' cents - a couple of the better ones I have found One 1963 silver dime. WORLD COINS Britain 1/2 New Penny - 1971 Canada 1 cent - 50 year anniversary of Statehood 1967-1992 1 cent - 1953 1 cent - 1964 1 cent - 1976 1 cent - 1980 1 cent - 1981 Egypt 25 Piasters coin Guyana 5 Cents coin - 1990 South Africa - 1 Rand - 1994 2 Rand - 1991 Tanzania 50 Senti coin - 1990 Uruguay $1 Nuevo Peso Coin - 1980 Yugoslavia 1 Dinar - 1984 ANCIENT COIN At least one ancient coin (maybe more) will be included. Ancient coins are just incredible and if you never held something that has existed for 2,000 years in your hand, you really should. I love them. FLIPS Some cardboard flips in various sizes will be included. I don't know how much more I can stuff into the priority flat rate envelope I'll use; but if there is room for more stuff, I'll see what I can cram in there. *As I continue to put the give-away together, I will be able to define more particulars, such as the number of 2017p cents. I have not reviewed all my wheat cents and may be able to fill out some of the holes in the 1930 series. Also, I may include some 1920 cents. I will try to edit the post when I have that information. ALSO - Let's make this a giveaway for those in USA and CANADA so I won't have to declare bankruptcy due to shipping costs. I'm not even sure whether shipping to Canada presents customs issues. We'll see about that. Would be great if those in Canada had address in US for shipping purposes.
Wow. I am kinda new to CT, and what you are giving away sounds very generous. What interests me the most about your give away are the "S" cents, wheats, and the world coins from guyana and tanzania. I hope you get many replies and hopefullybin the future I'll be able to follow your steps and do a giveaway of my own.
I think of myself as a Lincoln Cent enthusiast and Wheat Penny hoarder. I would lovethe opportunity to search through the ten rolls to possibly flesh out my albums and add anything else to my sack of wheats. I've also never had an acient coin and think it would be really cool to hold something with that much history. Thanks so much for deciding to do this giveaway
My grandchildren and i search cent rolls and when they find something good it goes in the book. They dont even keep doubles because they want others to find some good ones too. Whats left of ten rolls after the search. We get ice cream or popsicles. There from Canada and don't have pennies. So we gotta wrap them and spend them over the weekend before they go back. So count us in. Your new like me. You do seem like you enjoy CT. Your refreshing. Good luck with your give away. Did you say s mints. Wow that would blow their minds
We dont hoard. Whatever pennies they dont need go back in rolls. I (Grandma) don't save any. I give them away.
Please consider me...been roll searching lately " limited capital ...but I spend about 20$ a week at my local coin shop.....my collection was lost "stolen" last year..Been rebuilding ...just got the Indian head cent album today and it needs a lot of spots....got a decent world collection started just from coinstar rejects....about 20 coins thus far ..thanks for the chance......
You're generous!! I just finished separating the decades of my 1srt box of pennies - super fun. Now I'm going through and deprecating by year and mint - I don't really know if I am going about it right! I do have some world coins I found in my grandfathers stuff... is there a market for them too! Mostly from the 60s and prior - have a great weekend Rock on
Wow...Very generous. Count me in please. I would love to look through those "unsearched rolls"...like you said never know what you may find. The San Francisco minted cents are a personal favorite of mine as well and I keep all that I find. I am very interested in the ancient coins too. This is actually what made me click on this giveaway. I have been looking for a couple to add to out world coin collection....but have been to afraid to pull the trigger for fear of buying a fake. Thanks for the great contest!!! Good luck to all that enter.
A big thank-you LaCointessa, what a great gesture to push our hobby onto newbies. Don't include me as I would like to see some of our new members get the benefit. But very generous especially seeing your a reasonably new collector yourself.
Good on you for doing the giveaway! Those 1930s D mint cents would plug a buncha holes for me. Only D mint 30s wheats I own are 32 and 36.
Please count me in! What interests me the most about your give away are the wheat cents. I'm slowly accumulating them and would like to eventually put together a complete set.
Hi @spirityoda! If that is the only coin you are really interested in having, I could scrounge up another and send it to you if you send me a private message with your address. But it would have to go regular US Mail.
I'll take a look and give a breakdown of the "s" mint coins that are in the give-away. Will do that later. Have to get to work this morning.
I am interested in the give away. It is very nice of you! I am most interested in the Ancient and Foreign part, but I love US coins. I have been collecting over 50 years and have NOT 1 Ancient or Foreign coin in my collection, except a coffee can of Canadian coinage I have picked up roll searching and in change over the years.
