    Welcome to the ancients forum, Aleph! Those images definitely appear to be the same coin. I wonder what was used to darken it's patina. Thanks for posting!

    Yes, cleaned, tooled, smoothed, and repatinated. It's exactly the sort of thing Lanz is infamous for.

    Certainly cleaned and repatinated, possibly smoothed, but I don't see tooling. The details seem to be on the coin in its original condition, hidden under all the dirt. They did quite a nice job cleaning it, if you ask me!
