Wishful thinking on a 1901 Barber

I have lovely barber quarter with tons of PMD in hand and when I scan it I believe I see an "S" mint mark. Probably wishful thinking but I figured I would throw it out there anyway to see what you all think! The photos are scans at 1200 dpi. The "S" looks smaller than it should be but perhaps because of the PMD?

Interesting how the remnants of part of an S would appear where it would be though.
