IMG_1809.JPG IMG_1813.JPG I've done some research on this coin and looked at various pictures, but I am still having trouble telling for sure if this is a true double die. Please let me know what you think and what it you might grade it at off the top of your head plus if you have an estimate on its value I would also be grateful, I've seen a big difference from recent books and online for values of this coin.

I'll make it easy. No it's not the big money 1955/55 doubled die.

Do a google search. It's not even close. The big 55/55 is easy to spot.

    In fact, here:

The cent is struck from a deteriorated die, commonly called the "poorman" as a way to sell to the new collectors. Just a very worn die used. Jim

If you gotta ask, it isn't it. The real DDO will make you sick to your stomach if you look at it too long lol.

Ok thanks everyone, sort of new to understanding how the whole double die thing works, and figured I'd better be sure.

It's been in print both ways for so many years that it should not matter.
If you get right down to it, It's not a doubled die. It's not a die. It's a coin made from a doubled die.

Here is one for sale on Etsy, $400. I assume it is counterfeit.
