Off the forums subject of just coins. I don't have a clue where to start looking for information could use the help. Thought it was ink pen or pencil possibly but then I noticed it is under some surfaces of the bill itself. Its nor on the reverse at all Ideas?[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I'm not sure it's under the eagle. Is it just not fully covering the eagle?

I think I can see faint traces of ink on the eagle.

Here's what I think is a trace of ink on the eagle.

The ink didn't stick to (get absorbed by) the rest of the eagle?

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

The ink was absorbed by the paper.
The eagle is a slick surface that will not hold the ink. It's kind of like trying to paint watercolor over crayon marks.
    It's from a teller's stamp.

This thread belongs in the paper money forum.

It's a partial bank teller stamp,
and rickmp explained it perfectly, imo

Except he has it backward. If you blow up the image where the stamp crosses the eagle wing you will see the ink is on top of the green ink of the wing and not on the paper. The thickness of the ink of the wing, and how close together the lines of green ink are kept the stamp from touching the paper in between the lines. SO the teller stamp is on top of the green ink and not on the paper.
