I was excited at 1st glance for this coin. 1918-s Lincoln cent Mechanically altered or whizzed . Such a shame.
Polished hard, then re-toned. Too bad, as it's an interesting piece. Nice little obverse chip in the B in LIBERTY (a "BIE;" you don't see too many of those in older wheats); nice little reverse crack ending in little cud in the wheat ear.
Assad's shame when I see Lincolns like these. coins that would B otherwise of the wise beautiful on any other scale that are just ruined my by foolish means
Beautiful counterfeit $10 lib. I showed this coin to two different dealers and one offered $1300 and the other offered me $1650, then I told them it is a counterfeit...their jaws..
The color looks good, but look at the denticles on the reverse b/t 5-10:00 = counterfeit. I sold the coin for scrap gold after I scratched two big X on both side of the coin.
Eddie, yes and no.. It is a Die Chip in the letter B but not a BIE. That would be a Die Break between the letters B and I Like this -
