Lol, just joking. The answer of how many are in the jar is 1001 wheat pennies! Congrats to the winners! I know a few got close to it, so they will get a teen wheatie. And if I remember right, 3 people guessed correctly, so I'll let you guys fight over who gets what of the prizes. So you guys can decide who gets what of: 64 proof nickel, 67 SMS nickel, 1919 PDS cents, and I'll throw in a silver cert. You guys can decide who gets what. Congrats!!! Guys!! I guessed too Low. Congrats Jimmy and Treashunt, i know u guys got it right!

 

It is a 1957 average circulated silver certificate, not much, but atleast something neat. The three winners can decide who wants and gets what. Thanks for entering the contest everyone! Made it very enjoyable for me atleast!

I would like the silver cert and maybe one of the nickels (I don't care which one, one of the other 2 winners can take one and I'll take the other)

that sound fair since I did get the answer first?

here is the logic I used to find the answer:

I made a list of all the answers given up to when phoenix said someone was 1 away, then I made a list of all answers phoenix said someone was 2 away, then I took note of the hint that no one else up to that time was within 10 cents, and that eliminted some, then I made a list of all guesses made that were odd, when phoenix said the answer was odd.

Then I compared the lists and first figured out all possibilities by looking at which numbers worked on the 1 away and 2 away list, then I took out all the even ones. The only possibilities that were left were 1001 and like 7xx or something. From there I just guessed that it had to be more then 800 so I went with the higher number (I made my guess before I noticed phoenix's hint that it was above 1000)

 

CaptainKirk, Treashunt, and Jimmyrules712 got it right. I got an idea to make it fair. Since jimmyrules guessed the answer first, he can either choose the nickels, the cents, or the silver certificate. Then Treashunt gets to choose second, and Captain Kirk gets whats left since he guessed it last. Does that sound fair? Hope so. So, jimmy, take your pick!

Okay, tha sounds fair to me jimmy. Then Treashunt can choose whether or not he wants the remaining nickel or cents, and CaptainKirk gets whats left. Sounds fair to me. Hope that works out for you guys too. I'll try to do what I can if it doesn't. And congrats you guys!

yep just send me whichever nickel doesn't get spoken for first by one of the other two and the cert and I'm very happy

 

I would be grateful for the cents, if the others want nickels. Thanks for the entertaining contest. Same logic used.

 

I had that answer, but then I changed it, thought it was too high. Guess I was wrong , lol :goofer:.
