    Here in Massachusetts we say fevah, not fever.

    My new Byzantine gold:

    Heraclius, with Heraclius Constantine. 610-641. AV Solidus (22mm, 4.36 g, 6h). Constantinople mint, 5th officina. Struck circa 616-625. Crowned and draped facing busts of Heraclius and Heraclius Constantine; cross above / Cross potent set on three steps; Є//CONOB. DOC 13d; MIB 11; SB 738. VF, minor deposits in devices, traces of underlying luster, areas of flat strike at periphery, reverse struck with worn die, lightly clipped.

    Ex Artemide XLIV (12 December 2015), lot 317; CNG 405, lot 589.

    I like figures with beards, and the little guy to the right is kinda neat, too.

    It honestly took me a full second to realise that I wasn't actually looking at the facing bust of a man-faced bull.

    Nice gold, @Nicholas Molinari! :)

    Here's a quick guide...

    "Fine" = Totally NOT fine.
    "Do whatever you want." = You better do what she wants.
    "I'm almost ready." = Give or take an hour.
    "You don't have to but..." = You damn well better.
    "We'll talk about this later." = I need time to remember all the ways you screwed up over the last 20 years.
    "I'm not hungry." = You better supersize it because she's going to eat half of yours.
    "Maybe." = No.
    "We'll see." = No.
    "Yes." = Maybe, but possibly no.
    "No." = No. This one's not open to interpretation.

    Hope that helps. :troll:

    Most of the MFBs on my list have big price tags, something I don't have the money or patience for right now. These will hold value reasonably well, I think, and at least be easy to liquidate should one of my targets pop up and be within my grasp. I don't plan to sell them, but would if I find a real gem of an MFB. That's the difference between these and MFBs for me.

    Wow, a VERY nice Byzatine solidus is your bottom feeding coin? That's awesome!

    Not that I'm jealous or anything. I totally have a solidus of my own, but it's a model coin that lives in Canada, so I can't show it off right now. But trust me, it's super hot.

    Oh I've had (and continue to get) plenty of true bottom feeders, trust me. However, there are very few MFBs in the $200 to $2,500 range that I would chase right now. Everything is much higher, like this: https://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?auction=4033&category=106256&lot=3334348

    It is difficult for me to conceive of a collector with the means seeing this coin and not buying it.

    Very nice solidus. Beard is very well rendered and the portraits are attractive. Sometimes Byzantine coins are cartoonish in how the portraits appear.
