1854 - Franklin Pierce was president and no one served as Vice President. Opponents of the Anti-slavery the Kansas-Nebraska Act formed the Republican Party in Ripon WI (though a few other towns claim the birthplace of the party, too).

 

It was my first ever Liberty gold dollar, I already got a MS-66 1888 Indian Princess from Stacks last year. Still need type 2 gold dollar. Also like to get some from New Orleans/ Charlotte/ mints

 

You're certainly not holding back, type two dollars and anything from Charlotte or Dahlinega are tough coins. New Orleans isn't so bad.

 

Hell I live an hour from Ripon WI and I never knew that lol.

And I find it amazing how for a dollar coin, how small it is.
