Think it needs to be pointed out that you're more likely to see this coin in the $100 range rather than the $30 one. Great score!

I picked up a similar one last month, but mine looks like he almost has a mustache too, with the bare chin. Paid $30 + free shipping.

Yes, those cool city gates plus the facing portraits plus the Buy It Now price that included free shipping sealed the deal for me!
Most of my coins are bought at auction from Europe. Shipping to the US makes it tuff to have one drop below $30. I bought these auctions where I had other coins to share shipping. The first was advertised as SAX, but is really C.SAX. 17 euro hammer = about $25. An anonymous As 18 euro hammer = about $27. This Pansa halved As hammered for 20 euro or about $28. The dollar to euro ratio has changed a bit this year. I save cost data in $.
I don't look at the prices of RR bronze often, but my sense is that you scored a great deal for these, especially that first one.
I'm not really into Roman Republic coins, but at ~$30 and with interesting-looking jugate heads I couldn't say no. Plus it was a local coin show buy which makes it more special for me. Manius Cordius Rufus, Roman Republic AR denarius Obv: Jugate heads of the Dioscuri right; stars above Rev: Venus Verticordia holding scales and sceptre; on her shoulder, Cupid Mint: Rome Date: 46 BC Ref: Cordia 1
i have one like this i paid around $30.00 for over 12 years ago. i got into a bid war i guess, but now consider it money well spent.
Picked this up from augustuscoins.com in a quick and efficient transaction. For some reason this coin caught my eye, so I pulled the trigger. As new as I am to Ancients there isn't always a lot of rhyme or reason to my purchases at this point. My guess is that I will start to zero in on a style, type, etc and specialize at some point. For now, however, I'm still running around like a kid in a candy store - everything I see looks good! It was pretty much exactly $30 with shipping included. Here is the ad and seller's pic: Licinius II (317-324) campgate, PROVIDENTISE CAESS small bust left MNTΔ (?). I can not find this mintmark in RIC. Nicomedia (for the "N")? Ticinum (for the "T")? Look for it yourself, or read the photo and decide it should be different. Do you have fun with rare varietie
