This has to be the nicest raw coin I've bought. Don't know if it's a 58 or 65, but I'm going to find out.
I picked these three up as a bundle today at my local coin shop. I got them for just $62. This is the first Chinese panda I've ever owned. Not bad for just slightly over $20 a coin I guess.
German 1 Mark. 1877B, Mintage 48,164. PCGS has only two graded: one in G6 and one in VF20. This is not my most recent purchase but one I got not too long ago.
I found these at the local gold buyers shop. I don't collect Canadian coinage normally but if this isn't a proof $0.10 Canadian it's very proof like. The 1943 Australian silver shilling was 2.00. Not bad for $6 I guess.
Oh, it is in the US Coins Forum! I never look at what forum a post is in. I just look at the title and if it sounds interesting I read the post, which in this case was "Let's see your newest acquisitions!", not "Let's see your newest US acquisitions!".
Picked up this dollar gold piece so I could bury it and see what my metal detector read... Not good. Even at six inches my machine didn't make a sound going over it. Such a small coin, I figure if they circulated they would have been lost fairly easily and would be sitting at 6 or more inches deep. Bummer. lol
Forgive me, but I'm actually more intrigued by the Cent which looks like it has an old fashioned CUD (rarely seen on modern coinage). Probably PMD, but intriguing.
It apparently is a "cud". I started a thread on it in the errors section and folks there said it was. I found it with my detector years ago and thought someone in shop class had torched it into that shape. Glad I didn't throw it away. lol
I have been putting up a diligent fight with other eBay snipers on a number of the earlier Indian Heads. This one arrived today, from Sarasota Florida, so it beat Irma out of Florida by a couple of days. I have another one that is languishing down there somewhere — seller claims he sent it a week ago but the USPS has no record of the tracking #. This 1874 cost me just a bit under $40... more than I wanted to spend.
I just got this nice XF 1945-D Walking Liberty half dollar. I got a great deal on it ($9) at the local coin club's auction:
