Looks like a retained lamination. Wait for other responses. Could also be a really old scratch

It looks like a scratch to me, too! I see metal pushed up along the edge.

Just seen the other line very faint above it starting on the right. Just above the long one.

@paddyman98 I thought this could be a scratch but noticed how there are two lines at first from far away looks like a scratch but I look closer and i just don't see it being a scratch IMG_0051.PNG

So I posted a 1909 that I was sure was a cracked die. Lessons learned from that told me that while it was a very unusual coin and maybe a lamination error, it wasn't a cracked die for the simple reason that cracked dies ALWAYS are raised.

As I look at this, I see PMD not anything that would indicate something that came from the mint. Not trying to burst a bubble, just putting in a bit of reality

looks like a strand of hair laying on the coin..as it looks like it goes over the rim and off the coin..

@ken454 I really don't think it that. Can you see this ? From a far it looks like a scratch but close up to me it looks like a retained lamination IMG_0059.JPG

Man, idk why I am so dead set that this looks very much like a retained lamination with a lamination crack trailing behind it. I must be stupid or something lol that's a pretty big chunk of hair. And if it's a scratch idk what could scratch a perfect rectangular lifted copper lines. I'm wondering if anyone clicked and zoomed lol

I'm with Ken & Idhair. You can see it go past the rim and over the material the coin is laying on. It's something lying on top of the coin.
