Another one of my absolutely favorite coins - the 20 Pesos Aztec Calendar Mexican gold piece (I like it almost as much as the Japan Meiji Dragons). Sadly, the pictures didn't turn out as good as I had hoped and the coin now resides in an undisclosed location (i.e., a vault). So it goes. These pictures barely do it justice. The 1959 re-strikes sell for not too much above spot, so this one offers a decent metal price with a fabulous aesthetic bonus. 27.5 mm, 0.4823 troy oz., .900
Very nice, I've always liked this design. The Sun Stone depicted is an amazing Aztec sculpture. For some reason I didn't go to the National Anthropology Museum when I was in Mexico City earlier this year, I definitely have to go back sometime.
