IMG_0272.JPG Does anybody know anything about the worth and authenticity of this coin? The tails side is upside down for some reason and somebody has attached a mount to it

That's the current value of the silver content in this coin. As far as I know there is no more value to this coin because it has been mounted and is not in good shape. Welcome to Coin Talk.

The two sides of a coin are referred to as obverse and reverse (or heads and tails in common terms). They can be in either medal alignment or coin alignment. Different countries choose different configurations but are usually consistent for all their coins. What you see is coin alignment, when you need to turn the coin vertically to see the reverse the correct way. If you need to turn it horizontally then you have medal alignment.

are all the tails sides printed upside down on these coins?

The OBVERSE is not upside down if you rotate it the correct way. All US coins have coin alignment, which means you need to rotate top to bottom, not side to side. German coins, on the other hand, all have medal alignment, which means you need to rotate them left to right.

Coins are struck, minted.. not printed.
    Paper currency is printed ;)
