And I was also wondering, if it is in fact a struck through error, would it count against the grade in a negative way when I sent it to PCGS?
No. It costs more for the grade then what the coin it would be worth and be pretty hard to find somebody that wants a coin with the single number missing a little bit of the letter on it
but the more I look at it kind a looks like it damaged actually especially because of the condition of the rim
Yeah whenever I look at the rim with a 10x loupe it almost looks like a letter that's stamped on it but i can't quite tell. I just figured it might be worth looking into because other than that, it doesn't have many marks on it at all so I thought it might be worth sending in when I compared it to what the high grade examples on PCGS's website looked like.
If you send it in for the error service not really, if you send it in normally more than likely. Errors submitted regularly sometimes get details grades too because of the error
