Hey gang, I bet nobody can out bid me on this!!!!!! Serious !!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=320164212803&ssPageName=STRK:MEBI:IT&ih=011
ha ha, i was just about to post this thread. What the heck is up with this one? I guess if it did not say "copy" on the coin and you did not have a soul, it may be worth buying!
Why would anyone pay $200 plus for a reproduction......Its yours I have this bridge that goes over the river Thames in London for sale oh forget it I see you guys already bought one......
No, actually, I bid on it so no newbie gets ripped off. It is an illegal listing / misleading title. Nobody should be able to outbid me, I bid GEM65 price. I will then get a non pay strike after I dont pay.
Why not just report the Auction and have it removed. Thats always worked for me in the past http://contact.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...Listing+Policies+for+Sellers+>+Selling+Coins+
Closed at $535.99. UNREAL!! Assuming Jack really bid on it (not that I am doubting him), there are at least 3 people who cannot read or did not bother to. I don't even know what to say.
There are people out there who collect fakes. There was an auction not long ago for a 1909-s VDB where the seller stated that the coin came back from ANACS as a forgery but people still bid on it. Think it went for 200-300 http://cgi.ebay.com/1909S-1909-S-VD...ryZ39456QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I agree that it was a totally misleading title. The word "reproduction" should have been in the title. However, people who bid need to read more carefully. Also, who in their right mind would buy a coin with such a crappy picture?
ok, i may be going out on a limb here, but i am pretty sure those people who bid on this coin knew that it was a fake. Like i said before, some people collect fakes. I just got back from a local coin shop and my dealer had various fakes that he was not willing to part with. Look up old 1909-s vdb auctions and you will see a few or more fake coins that were cleary described as fake but the coins still went for over a hundred bucks. oh , i see this coin is not a "fake" but a reproduction. That is a different story. Oh well Also, where can i get a 1909-S vdb for 100 bucks Coinlover?
You can get a real SVDB for $100 MORE than the second highest bidder was going to pay for a reproduction. So $600 Tommy.
