1956D penny toning? Or improper alloy?

Discussion in 'US Coins Forum' started by Michael Bertono, Aug 25, 2017.

  1. I never specifically collected toned coins but i do have a few bc they are key dates and have seen some can even go for a premium to certain collectors. I have come across a few that look like this 1956D penny. Would this be considered toning or a improper mix of the copper ,zinc and or tin composition??? Thanks to the 2017-8-23 9-30-50.jpg CT Community.
