This is an awesome thread. What a great idea. All these countries that I knew little or nothing about. John
Siberia. Our coins weren't numerous. They were released during the reign of Catherine II the Great (1762-1796). It was the only period when Siberian coins were produced. There were 6 types of coins: polushka (1/4 kopek), denga (1/2 kopek), 1, 2, 5 and 10 kopeks. I have polushka, denga, 1 and 2 kopeks.
It's not so bad. I keep them in 2x2s in plastic pages in albums. I have about 35 albums at the bottom of a closet. That's why it's hard to get to them easily.
I have 6 albums, many loose coins, probably around 10 slabbed coins. I need to get better organized. It is close to being good, but needs fine tweeking.
My son is 7 1/2 months old so it's a little early to tell at this point. I hope he's interested when he gets older though.
Here are some more that I have. The first is from Antwerp and is a siege coin. It's heavily worn but very interesting. Second is Gibraltar, which is also heavily worn unfortunately. Third is the British West Indies. Last is German East Africa. I'm not sure how many coins they have offhand, but I don't see them often. I wish I had one from German New Guinea.
