I believe the mark on the right side is die chip? Not sure if the image between the flame and leaf is a clash? dimeobverse1.jpg dimereverse2.jpg dimereverse4.jpg dimereverse5.jpg

I don't think it's a clash. It looks like it would line up somewhere above the motto around the neck. Maybe another die chip maybe with a some contribution from a worn die

I've got a few examples of that. Die deteration 100%

The second one down ( on the reverse next to torches flame on your left shows the same thing yours does. And by the way just incase your wondering, there are no doubled does in my pictures. Take a good look at this, learn what DDD aka die deteration doubling looks like IMG_1792.JPG IMG_1793.JPG IMG_1794.JPG IMG_1564.JPG IMG_1565.JPG IMG_1563.JPG IMG_1796.JPG IMG_1797.JPG

At "America" I can see both die deterioration but what looks also like the bottom of the "I" took a direct hit and some metal got shoved down and looks like a chip. The other I'm not certain about.

Some of those blobs on your coin looks like soldering. I never seen something. Looks so different than our coins, yours looks like a rounded dirt hill, ours look like a Rocky Mountain terrain lol by any means, I am not saying that it's a soldering, just looks so different, even looks darker too and that's strange

I can assure you it isn't solder. I had the light angled to highlight the hump. That is why it looks darker. I have a quarter too. Hang on I'll find an image.

Nope it was a die dent. Sorry

Oh I know it's not a soldering, just looks different than your average die deteration. I wouldn't argue with you on that. You seem to know your stuff

It had me stumped. I had never seen that before. Thank goodness for Mike Diamond.

Thank you tommyc03... I must confess I'm still learning about the dies and the way they look on the coin before replaced. But is seems that worn dies show a lot of lines of wear before they get replaced (or polished?) This image, (OP post where the arrow points) does show some lines of wear but not a lot. Does this mean that whole area of the coin is deteriorated?

Everything on this is die deteration as well. With the exception of what's above the R in trust, and that big spot between in TY in liberty. Take a good look

I'll be 63 in a few months and have been collecting around 50 years but I'm always still learning something new. And much of my learning has been through the good graces of many kind people here.
