I'm gonna guess the 1945 will grade higher.

I think it depends where they get sent. From the pictures 2 appears to be the more attractive coin

The detail on the first reverse seems nicer, but overall the second coin because I am not sure about the scratches in the field in obverse 1.

    Those are die polish lines.

In that case my vote is for 2 doing better

The 45, I would have been leaning towards the 46 despite the heavy obverse die polishing lines but the chunk out of the eagles neck makes me think the second will come back higher.

Personally if it was my choice to purchase either one or the other I say the 45 d however the 46 s even with the Polish lines shows more luster, that said the 46 and it's an ms 65.

The '45 is nicer, and should come back higher, but there is a chance they come back the same. The 45 gets my vote for the nicer surfaces (no noticeable dings or polish lines), but the 46 has a little nicer coloring that could compensate. The polish lines and the neck ding really kill it, imo.

These have already been graded. PCGS posted the grades today. One graded 1.5 full grades higher than the other, (aka one got a plus grade).

Instant thought, the 1946 is (to me) a nicer looking coin.

I think the 1946 did better. It looks like the metal filled the dies better than the 45. The 45 has that grainy look to it. I would have graded them both MS65 if I was buying. Both coins have their appeal.

The 1945 is the technically superior coin, in a narrow victory which would probably not be a full grade's difference. The 1946 is the one with the bigger number on the slab, having superior luster and color. Depending on what weight one assigns to such things, it may deserve that. I have them at 66 for the '45 and 66+ for the '46.
