I wouldn't worry about it, who knows what it would have ended up at if you placed a higher bid on it. That is a good example though of dealers sourcing material there given the amount of things that end for wholesale prices basically

Nah, I'm still very happy with my purchase. He got a great deal, I got a good deal. Besides, he still has to pay ebay, paypal, and the post office, so it's not like he made a mint off of me. I have no problem with people making a profit off me, as long as it's within reason, and I feel this is well within reason.

See I would never buy from a place like that because they certify everything, especially Morgan Dollars. I prefer mine raw.

I can understand that, to a point. The prices of their graded and guaranteed coins is in line with raw coins elsewhere, so if you really want, just crack 'em!

I see GC's rep as a better place to buy than sell changing in the short- to mid-term. Fees at the major houses are usurious to the average seller, especially for values at and under $1k/coin - where's your margin if you're losing $200+ to the auction house? It's just plain economic sense to cut your consignment expense in half. GC should be aggressively pursuing that seller demographic.
