Hello I just have two simple questions . Can anyone tell me if this is a steel doubled die lincoln cent and if so how much are they worth ? Thanks .
I don't see any doubling there, but it's a decent looking steel cent. You say "found", as in, coin roll hunting? If you found that in circulation, that's pretty nice for one that came "out of the wild".
OP, why are you posting this coin again ? https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1943-steel-penny-ddr-and-ddo.301111/#post-2821916
If you go to the link from coneca I posted, there's price guides there . DDO-012 is worth $80 dollars in MS-65 . DDR-013 is worth $80 dollars in MS-65 . Grand total 160 dollars in MS-65 ..
Seriously, Rick? Considering DDO-012 and DDR-013 just happen to be the SAME COIN, does it really make sense to add up the claimed "values", which just happen to be identical (hint?), as if there is one for one side, and a separate value for the other? Of course there has yet to be any remotely convincing evidence posted to suggest the OP coin is actually of this variety, but has never stopped a certain someone before. Instead of continued games, perhaps the OP should simply submit his little precious for attribution. I've already told him that if confirmed to be the variety you claim, I'll pay for the trip, so what does he have to lose if anywhere near as confident as his repeatedly posting it suggests?
Maybe the OP doesn't care what you or I think . I asked for images of the eyelid and none came . OP has the coin and the links, again, maybe they just don't care .
I obviously missed the first thread also, and was wondering how anyone could come to any DDO conclusion, to me it looks like die chips and an over used die.
You're absolutely right, Rick; he doesn't, and only wants to be told what he wishes to hear (hence my point). This is also very likely why he continues to post the same coins to multiple threads instead of simply providing what you quite reasonably requested. If history suggests anything, your links will, most unfortunately, go ignored. Mine did... I hate to say it, but one of the "don't feed the.... " memes would be an ideal addition to this thread. Perhaps you have one handy?
Wow so to all those people who are reading this we can all finally see some actual proof now as to how mature and how superior some of these so-called coin experts actually are ... because you see I tried playing nice with you booksb4coins and I really didn't want to embarrass you infront of all your little followers but i think that a little dose of humiliation is just what the doctor ordered . Because not only do you stalk my every post and try throw these lame immature jabs at me . You also like to pretend that you know everything and " you're " actually providing false / inaccurate info on other people coins ... unless ofcourse you're trying to implying that John Wexlers attribution of the 1943 DD steel cent which is identical to mines is also incorrect as well ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Infact it doesnt even matter if you do admit that it is a Doubled die steel cent at this point because I'm sure that once everyone sees these two coins side by side they will see and know for themselves now just how immature and bogus you really are !!!
Don't feel singled out........... Dang it Rick..........I was swatting at that danged bug for thirty seconds.
P.S. Oh and to Rick S. ... Please don't ever be a follower or lower your self-worth by riding on someone else's coat tail it when you make a good educated guess because trust me when i say that doesn't look good
@Jewels2017 It still seems that you have much to learn Grasshopper! You still wont show the eye. Many of these cents suffer from DDD, push, and split plate doubling, etc. The "eye" is usually a key, to nailing down the correct Doubled Die. Here is a reference for you before you start jumping to conclusions, http://varietyvista.com/01a LC Doubled Dies Vol 1/DDO 1943.htm Match it to one of these because, because I believe you have "DUG YOUR OWN HOLE". If you know what DDO. If it is? Tell us, and relieve us from your almightiness.
No Ive actually just showed you the DDO and DDR with the clear photos that I just posted And yet you still seem to want to avoid them and Pretend like you don't see the identical matches on the 43 with the raised features on lincolns face and you want to try and focus on the eye as though that is the only indicator as to what a doubled die cent is . so i don't intend to play childish games here ... Infact someone of you guys clearly need to stop playing Coin God's and stop acting like you're the only ones who know what a doubled die coin is and stop pretending like you dont see John wexlers coin and mine ... Or better yet maybe you should just go see an eye doctor this week and ask him if the photos I shared has any resemblance since you don't see them . LOL
