1960s Roosevelt Dime with errors...right? I don't think I can make out the exact year. Any idea or has any of these been found? Any value? Thanks 15025924552731006903876.jpg 1502592513815415779046.jpg 15025925462201721846424.jpg 15025925719281544058556.jpg 15025926038871056567405.jpg 1502592631952494781004.jpg

Do you really think it came from the mint in that condition?
What part of the minting process do you think caused that?
Do you think the mint would use dies that produce coins that look like that?

In the first photo, where LIBERTY is incomplete, why is the LI running into it backwards? What would cause that?

And there is a wheat plume above his ear? I can tell in the photo, I think it's 1968.

your dime is horribly damaged, i doubt it would even go thru a coin machine, best bet, hide it in a roll of dimes to cash in at a bank...

Again how did the LI and the what plume rearrange themselves? Not wanting advice on what to do with it just a reasonable explanation...which YOU aren't providing. Maybe you should put something somewhere.

It's impossible for anyone to know what caused the damage. You'll just have to accept that it is damage and move on with your life.

I found a cent like that at my local gas station parking lot this week. I really wanted to give it a break from the traffic road rash so I tossed it into the mulch nourishing the flower beds.

Very sad. R.I.P. poor abused cent.

There you go again, Linda. You say you want help, but you let that smart mouth of yours get in the way. I could give you the names of four collectors on these forums who have combined experience of more than 200 years, and they would all tell you the same thing. It is post-mint damage (PMD) but there is no way to definitively explain what caused it. The only thing they could definitely say is that they have a complete understanding of how coins are produced by the Mint, and this coin could never have come from the Mint in that condition.

Hi Linda. You have a nice collection so far, I look forward to seeing it grow. As mentioned above both coins are damaged. It seems more than once, maybe getting stuck in vending machines, being run over, people messing around with power tools, etc. But it always is good to check, no one thought this could come out of the mint and it did:

    Or this:

I am not meaning to offend you or Chris I was just pointing that out.

Wow. You are a stand up guy. I'm impressed!! Ha. Looks like this girl may have attained this collection from someone else and she is wondering why someone would keep those. Maybe she don't know much about coins. I love the way you presented this Sorencoins
