Anyone have any idea what this anomaly in front of the Buffalo's front legs might be? It starts behind the grass and goes in a straight line to the back side of the beard. It is raised. It may need to be enlarged. It does not seem to match anything on the obverse to be a clash. I do see a die clash on the obverse under the chin. Thank you one and all. Tom
Honestly, I've never seen this before. I can't capture it properly for here but in hand, it's very bold and raised. Very straight edge on both sides. Nothing ragged and no peeling visible, although a lamination might be possible, just never made it to the peeling stage?
Thanks for the overlay but it still does not match up to anything. It's about the width of an inside of the bay of a Lincoln Memorial cent. If you would like to take a look at in hand, I'd be happy to mail to you with return postage?
Since the lines go inside all of the depression it passes over as well as over all raised portions, I believe it is PMD from the photos.
