Thanks Erin! I love this hobby and I want it to survive. I enjoy helping out beginners who have the interest but don’t have the resources. I know what it’s like to have a student loan hanging over your head. The more of us the better. It’s good for the hobby and helps our favorite ancient coin dealers stay up and running.

It's just a shame that the traditional social constructs of our numismatic society almost compel a collector to chose one or the other. Why should one have to pick Macrinus over Morgans, or vice versa? Why not both or all?

 

Why not? I do not collect moderns, but there is no reason why I can't or shouldn't. In fact, there are many on the Ancients forum here that also collect moderns.

 

I like and collect US, world and ancient.

 

I have been on the receiving end of your generosity many times. I hope that someday my situation can get better so that I can pay it forward to the noobs and those in financial difficulty that appreciate our hobby!

Just be open to the fact that the same rules don't apply to both moderns and ancients.

This is supposed to be a fun hobby. Do what you want.

Me gotta bunch too, just never photo them. Too many millions made, mine are not unique.

Ancient History is fun for me... many times they did things for the FIRST time in History... that took guts, intelligence, or massive luck!
