Coin show purchase

Not a bad coin - I think AU details lightly cleaned(cleaning did not bother me in the least). Am a little disgusted with myself for missing that spot on the ear - which is why I added details. Almost looks like a little drop of glue to cover a small spot(using a microscope at 200x). It is a N-9(could not get the 3 in the snap shot). Overall I am happy with the coin just frustrated that I looked at so many coins and discard them because of corrosion, cleaning, etc. Then I miss this spot. With the naked eye this coin looks nice. All thoughts and opinions are welcome.

My thought and opinion is that I wish I had a cent that old in such wonderful condition! :kewl: Thanks for sharing!

Is that a gouge and corrosion under that "glue-spot" ?

 

I can't tell. At 200x it looks like a little crumbling on the coin, but I really do not see any corrosion. Does not mean anything - just that I can not tell.

 

That's not a bad coin for a c-note.

Nope - not slabbed. Actually the only thing I am actively seeking slabs for are my IHC.
