Had a teller this morning say she had $400 worth of Nickels from a customer from 2004 and 2005. All P and D unopened. Besides the speared Bison, any other things to look for?

The best from a box of nickels. The top coin is from Saudi Arabia.

I was all set to go to the bank, post office and library.
Sister took Dad to the VA. I was given cash to get gas in my truck. But it was deader than Abe Lincoln. Charged the battery forever. Finally at about 4pm when the bank lobby closes it started. So tomorrow I'll hit the drive through at the bank.

What should I be looking for when searching though nickels. Right now all I've been doing is pre '60 basically. Any common error years, or stuff to look out for?

Acid dates are not worth much but they are intriguing. I raised the dates on hundreds and it is possible to fill the first two pages in the folder with all the circulation dates and mintmarks but although I have seen the varieties on ebay
I've never found one. Unless it is obviously from the teens I don't lift dates unless
I see a mintmark. I've rarely seen an AG from the third page and have never found a slick from then. The only slicks that can be dated without treatment are the 1913 type ones. Once they are slick they are still a curiosity but not much use except for jewelry and belt buckles. I chimed in here only because most buffalos found by CRH are slicks.

Right in my wheelhouse. I keep everything 62 and earlier. Within that range the good ones are 39D, war nickels (42-45 w/MM above Monticello), 43P 3/2, 43P doubled eye, 45P DDR, 49D/S, 50D (key), 54S/D, 55D/S. After that there's the 05 speared bison, but check wexlers or vista if you're looking for modern DDO/DDR and such.

This is a little late, but not critical, I forgot to mention the 82P. It had a lower mintage and I throw nicer examples of them in my lower mintage jar along with 69 and 70 dimes, 83P&D quarters. Stuff that will be worth more down the road.

I have several very nice 82D and P. But if a nice one comes along I grab it. I check every 83 for copper. Ain't come across a copper but I keep looking.
If I get anything pre 2000 that is beautiful I put them aside.
Compare them to what I have. And even if not worth changing out I'll keep and flip them.
In nickels you will find the occasional coin that looks like it just left the mint. Lots of 98, 95 2002 will show up.
More than a few 64 show as well.
I am looking for a spiked Buffalo Nickel.

It's getting tough. Found a better 72P nickel.
    And that is all.
Need only two pennies after 1958.
Don't really require any nickel after 1959.
    Three dimes after silver.
    No quarter that isn't silver.
Guess I'll see if my bank has any half dollars.

What does a box of nickels go for? I doubt I could swing it but it would be nice to know.

I'd just like to mention something in this thread. I've accumulated 6 pounds of foreign coins just from CRH and the reject tube on coinstar. I wish i knew exactly how much was from just CRH but still that number very high no? I'll be searching through them to see if i could find anything good tomorrow, as it'll be rainy.
