I won't inflict the mass of FTR horsemen that I have received this week but will force a small selection on you. Great additions Martin! Had my eye on one Heres my most recent FH Still trying to decide on which mint this one is.
Yeah either SMKA or SMHA ha, or SMNA... the reverse style should point you to which one! Also there looks like there may be a star in the reverse field left... maybe.. Mintmark left field City RIC reference SMHA star Heraclea Heraclea 67 SMKA star Cyzicus Cyzikus 67 SMNA star Nicomedia Nicomedia 63
I really love those Antioch fallen horseman... If I was going to buy just one one perfect FH coin as a representative for the type, It would be an Antioch mint... With Alexandria being a close second.
When the coins of Antioch are good they are very good. This is one of my better ones. The obverse on this one isn't quite there but still quite good. If it weren't for an uneven strike this one would be great.
I was the under bidder on that one But then the next day I got back at you and outbid you by 0.12 Euros on this one It's my only fallen horseman coin, i had a few before but sold them.
I have very few... here is one: RI Constantius Gallus Caesar 351-354 AE21 FEL TEMP REPARATIO soldier-spearing-fallen-horseman RIC 348 Siscia
The N, K and H can look similar. I was flipping between Heraclea 67, and Nicomedia 62/63. They style is a bit different than my Nicomedia, so I'm leaning mostly to Hrtaclea. It would be a variant for either.
