Hi everybody! I just buy a 1961 Proof set sealed from the mint on eBay I just opened and...... Wow!!! That is the most beautiful coin I ever got! (Obviously I only have 7 months collecting coins!) But this is gorgeous!
Tell me what is is up with everyone still hold on their wheat penny if they are not valuable some tell tell they are worth anything all such some say they worth something I have wheat penny from 1935-1938-1939-40-59 than other penny from 1960-1969 and my be the70.
@Luis A Sanchez ...happy for you...I like the way the mailing envelope address is Philadelphia 30, PA
Thats a beautiful cent, submit it to PCGS, many people will buy it for a high premium, or just have a nice graded toner.
I think (but I am not sure) what he is saying the LM cents are worth more to some than the wheat cents...but in all fairness, the proof 61 LM is not worth submitting.
I'll take a stab at this one.... First, the value of generic wheat cents is minimal. However, some collect simply because they enjoy or like to search looking for overlooked varieties, while others think that someday they'll be able to profit from them. There can be as many reasons as collectors; worth and/or value doesn't necessarily have to come into play. The coin in question (along with the mentioned variety) is a different issue altogether. The value and/or interest in such coins come from factors above and beyond the simple date and type. Was this remotely close to answering whatever it is you were trying to ask?
Maybe and maybe not; all depends on the coin's likely grade, the submitter's situation, and the desirability of the color. I wouldn't send it as a single, but depending on the aforementioned, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the possibility. Doing one's homework and taking to those familiar with this area would likely be a wise move before making such a decision. JMHO, of course. Either way, it's a very nice and attractive coin. Congrats to the OP!
