I was looking through a few rolls of Sac's from my bank. I found 3 Wounded Eagle Dollars in one roll. After sending them to Anacs, they came back MS-64. I'm positive one is at least a 65. I'm going to crack the two best out and resubmit to PCGS.

My question is what are these things worth. I've only found damaged or AU coins on Ebay. One guy offered me $450 for a coin, but he has the same grade listed in Collectors Universe for $1599.99

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I plan on selling all three coins, but I don't want to give them away and I don't want to hang on to them forever either. What does everyone think about price?

    You have me curious.

Could you please post a picture of one. I have never seen one of these "wounded eagles".

    Matt:
    First, welcome to the forum.
Second, as far as true value, that can only be determined between a knowledgeable buyer & seller.
Not being sarcastic, there is a very limited market for these varieties.
The promoters, naturally, want a very high price, the buyers (dealers) don't want to invest a lot in them because they may get stuck with them in inventory.

    Or that is my opinion.

Can't steal the pics but you can go to eBay auction # 260163622780 and view the creature there!
    Hope this helps.

I had to shrink the picture, but here is what I found before it was sent to Anacs. wounded sac.jpg

    I've got one of those.
I have no idea what they're worth though.

Save your money, ANACS has much looser grading standards than PCGS does. Sending them to PCGS, will if anything, likely result in the coins being graded even lower.

As for value, if somebody offered me $450 for one - I'd take it before you could blink.
