I went to Lowe's today, and bought a curtain rod for $2.07. I gave the cashier 3 Jefferson dollars. She looked at them for several seconds and then called over the head cashier who also looked them over. She then called the store manager over, and he finnally said they were ok to take, and I was home free...
Yesterday at the grocery store I used the last of some $125 worth of Presidential dollars I had acquired since they debuted. That made 125 times in a row that the coins were taken without the slightest hesitation at restaurants (fast food and sit-down), home improvement stores, drugstores, groceries, electronic stores, etc., etc., etc. I guess I must just have an honest face!
i've had some clerks start asking questions that made me feel they may be thinking of becoming a numismatist.............i must say that's a great feeling! grizz
